A light-hearted look at aspects of pantomime (mainly 20th century) focusing on people, practices and changing expectations – with an emphasis on the link between variety and panto. After the interval, Chris will host a quiz (with small prizes!) – how much do you think you know about panto?
About Chris Abbott
After a career in education, Chris Abbott now focuses on writing about theatre, especially pantomime. He is the author of Putting on Panto to pay for the Pinter (Hobnob Press 2012), has edited the letters of children’s playwright David Wood (Frank Exchanges 2023), and is completing a history of the theatres of Salisbury, including the Palace Music Hall.
This will be a full evening starting at 7.30pm with an interval. Ending circa 10pm.
