Fresh off recording his debut album with producer Gus White, songwriter Bozard and his 6-piece band are set to play the Water Rats as a one-off show in 2026 – as a preview of the record in its entirety.
There are many beautiful voices within the British Songwriters landscape these days, but Bozard’s is so personal that he sometimes sounds like he’s lived outside of sociality and only observed humans from a satellite up in lower orbit. Beyond the whacky instrumentation – dark drumming, double-bass, prepared resonator guitar, harmonium, glockenspiel, and so on – his voice sounds like the one of a town-crier whose voice climbs and falls and breaks, for the news is bigger than the throat.
“This is unique and off the wall stuff […] There is so much to hold our attention and once it has it, we can explore the highways and byways of broken moon to our hearts’ content. Bozard is breaking new ground here and underneath the fresh turned soil is a bumper harvest.” Mp3Hugger
