This Halloween, acclaimed singer-songwriter Hannah Rose Platt returns to London’s legendary Water Rats with her full band, The Deathbed Confessions, for an unforgettable evening of gothic folk/rock and cinematic storytelling. Celebrated for her spellbinding live performances and critically acclaimed concept albums, Platt weaves together folklore, history and the macabre into songs that are as haunting as they are heartfelt. Expect rich harmonies, immersive arrangements and an atmospheric night of beautifully dark tales to mark the season.

Hannah Rose Platt is a singer-songwriter with a cinematic eye and a poet’s ear, crafting haunting, imaginative records steeped in melody and myth. Known for her flair for the macabre and piercing narrative depth, she creates genre-bending music that feels like live folklore, intimate, eerie, and unforgettable.
Her Xtra Mile Recordings debut Deathbed Confessions announced her as a striking new voice, praised by The Crack as “twelve murder-ballad tales dripping in gothic stylings.” This was followed by Hypnagogia, a companion EP inspired by Nordic folklore and written for a Scandinavian tour supporting label-mate Frank Turner. Featuring atmospheric songs and eerie spoken-word interludes narrated by BAFTA-
nominated actor David Morrissey (Tiptoe, The Long Shadow), Hypnagogia drew acclaim for its daring format and haunting atmosphere.
In 2025, Platt released her latest concept album, Fragile Creatures (Xtra Mile Recordings) produced with BAFTA/Mercury-nominated Ed Harcourt. Inspired by myths, superstitions, and historical misdiagnoses surrounding women’s bodies, the album received widespread critical acclaim.
It has since been transformed into a live immersive song cycle, which debuted at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, earning ★★★★ and ★★★★★ reviews across the board for its originality, emotional depth, and powerful fusion of music, history, storytelling, and immersive sound design. Following its success, the show has been staged at the Surgeon’s Hall Museum (Edinburgh) and London’s Old Operating Theatre Museum & Hunterian Museum, with further touring planned across the UK and internationally. Over the past few years, Platt has toured with Frank Turner, Ed Harcourt, and Chuck Ragan as well her own headline shows, captivating audiences with conceptual performances that blur the lines between concert, theatre, folklore, and song.
