Surfin Caramba was formed in January 2001 in Santiago de Chile by Julio Von Muhlenbrock (voice and guitar), Barbara Meschede (bass) and Richard Guerrero (drums). The band started as a trio that mixes Psycho / Surf / Rockabilly, playing their own instrumental surf songs and covers of their main influences like The Cramps, Social Distortion and Johnny Cash. The sound and spirit of the old days were captured in the first “B-record”, totally self-produced and of which the song “Psychokiller” was later incorporated into the first Latin American compilation of surf music “Intro-latin Orama”.
